This edition was born from a true collector’s discovery: a reissue of a dial that Guillaume Laidet found at Cenic, forgotten for decades in their archives. By bringing it back to life, we’ve preserved all its vintage soul while pairing it with our contemporary watchmaking know-how, offering enthusiasts a genuine piece of history on the wrist.
The Antarctic Diver Vintage Aquamar brings Nivada’s historic dive tool into a compact 38mm case with a cold-toned, dark blue and grey dial. A black ceramic bezel, 20 ATM water resistance and the automatic Soprod P024 movement with date make it a rugged, everyday diver with vintage Antarctic DNA.
The Antarctic Diver Vintage Aquamar is a modern continuation of Nivada’s polar-born tool watches, built for collectors who want a serious diver in a compact, wearable format. Its 38mm 316L stainless steel case, 45mm lug-to-lug and 12.9mm thickness keep the profile balanced on the wrist while still feeling like a purposeful instrument. The matte dark blue and matte grey dial evoke cold, deep waters, with printed white luminous markers and thick cream Super-LumiNova details for high legibility in low light. A black ceramic bezel with luminous markings frames the dial and reinforces the watch’s tool-watch character, ready for timing dives or everyday missions. Inside beats the Soprod P024 automatic movement with date, running at 28,800 vph with approximately 38 hours of power reserve. The watch is rated to 20 ATM, protected by a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and a solid steel caseback engraved with the signature Nivada penguin and gold medallion. The Antarctic Diver Vintage Aquamar is a cold-forged tribute to Nivada’s exploration heritage, designed to be worn hard, every day.
Founded in 1926 in Grenchen, Switzerland, Nivada Grenchen built its reputation on robust tool watches designed for adventure. The brand became particularly renowned in the 1950s and 1960s, producing versatile, purpose driven timepieces such as the Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver, the Antarctic, and the Depthmaster. These watches combined technical capability with distinctive mid century styling, earning a loyal following among pilots, divers, and explorers. After a period of dormancy, Nivada Grenchen was successfully revived, reintroducing faithful reissues that capture the spirit of its heritage while appealing to modern enthusiasts seeking vintage character with contemporary reliability.
