Here in the UK, we are experiencing a true summer. Not like the last couple of years that have been overcast and rainy, but a summer filled with sunshine. But with sunshine, comes heat and the temperatures have remained high for months. With some of us struggling to cope, let’s have a look at some super cool watches to keep those temperatures down. Seiko x Rowing Blazers x Wind Vintage 5 Sports
This three-way collab have produced one of the coolest looking Seikos in a long time. Wind vintage and Rowing Blazers teamed up to produce this limited-edition Seiko 5 Sports. There is a blue dial 42mm and green dial 39mm variant. For me, the green is the strongest of the two, the shade is off-white lume and green is a perfect combination. The 39mm case is brilliant and the 5 sports is an icon from modern Seiko. It gives the feel of a true vintage watch with a great colour combination all while being completely modern and under £400!

Abinger Phantom
Our friends over at Abinger are about to celebrate their first birthday and have launched a PVD stealth version of their Nimrod called Phantom. Still the same case dimensions at This model is available in two variants, luna featuring a white C3 lume dial and black case, and NOX that is fully murdered out and has white lume on the numerals. The preorder for these starts August 1 st so be quick, these are going to be popular!

Nodus Trailtrekker Carbon
The Trailtrekker in the clay DLC finish is my favourite model from Nodus. I love the case architecture, GMT function, and case coating that gives it an awesome feel and appearance. Now they’ve produced an even cooler version called carbon. The coating on the case and bracelet is now gunmetal grey, and the dial and bezel feature a carbon effect, but wait there’s more. They’ve used a luminous resin that creates an organic pattern of light complimented by strong lume on the indices, numerals, hands and date wheel. This is a watch that looks just as good in the dark as it does in the daytime.

Studio Underd0g SERIES02
The SERIES02 from Studio underdog got two new colours added to the lineup using some of the learnings from the Manhattan limited edition. The new Nightshade and Red L0lly models feature a silver sunburst base and coloured sapphire dial. There is no paint here, just coloured sapphire. These watches are still featuring that manual wound SW200-2 movement and compact dimensions in a high-quality and very pretty case.

Baltic Scalegraph
The Baltic Scalegraph gests some tasty upgrades this month. New dial colours Blue, Grey, and Champagne strengthen Baltic’s neo-vintage design language. The proportions have been adjusted over the previous panda models too. The chapter ring is now slightly smaller allowing the main dial to grow and modernise the feel of this watch. The addition of screw down pushers brings an impressive 100m of water resistance to the chrono now making it an ideal summer holiday companion!

Breitling Top Time B01 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5
The partnership between Breitling and Aston Martin has so far produced some very sexy things and the new tribute to DB5 is possibly the sexiest yet. The Aston Martin DB5 is one of the most beautiful and revered cars of all time and this watch takes inspiration from that design. The wood effect chapter ring echoes the car’s steering wheel, and the colours on the dial taken from the paint and gauges. I also love the nod to the DB5 engraved on the rotor. A watch that ties cars and horology is always going to go down well with me, especially one that looks this good.

IWC Ingeniuer 35 Pool Blue
I love the IWC Ingeniuer and I love light blue so when I found out this little beauty had been released, I got very excited. The 35mm Ingeniuer is definitely not as small as the dimension suggests being an integrated design. However, I do believe that the 40mm version is better proportioned, and that’s coming from an itty-bitty watch fan who dailies a 34mm! But aside from that you cannot deny that the pool blue dial on the engraved pattern just looks amazing. I think if they were to bring this out in 40mm it would be very popular. In its current form it definitely feels like a competitor to the Rolex 36mm OP, all be it considerably more money and better finished. This then must be the perfect summer watch for rich people!

Zentih Defy Extreme Lapis Lazuli II
To finish we have something a bit extreme both in name and nature. This new defy extreme from zenith incorporates stone and skeletonised dial design. This must have been quite the challenge to manufacture as stone dials are tricky in their simplest form. Making one hat is combined with a skeleton effect is extremely impressive. This watch comes in a super-modern and massive 45mm carbon and titanium case and is powered by the ferocious El Primero 9004 calibre that is capable to reading 1/100 th of a second! This is not something I would buy myself, but simply from a watchmaking standpoint, this watch deserves a place on this list.
