Our canvas NATO straps are crafted from highly durable canvas for style and strength.
This design is similar to our regular NATO straps but it does not have the additional material that doubles up behind the watch case, making this strap more streamline and less bulky on the wrist. The strap also has two fixed keepers and is supplied complete with stainless steel spring bars.
Not sure how to wear a NATO watch strap? Take a look at our helpful guide.
Available in five colours, which have a lovely faded vintage effect, this strap has the appearance of the classic military style but with the added comfort of the cotton canvas material. Extra stitching has also been applied around the holes for added durability.

Yes, it's a bit thicker. No, on some watches it won't go under the spring bars easily, but use curved bars and this problem is solved. Yes, it is thick to go under the keeper, but it softens with use and will tuck in just fine. Lovely soft strap, immensely comfortable.
Love this strap. Looks great and is very robust. The Army Green colour goes perfectly with my watch too. I only gave it 4 stars because I prefer the extra loop and buckle of the standard NATO. Superficial, I know but...
This is a great-looking, comfortable strap. But the material is significantly thicker than a standard NATO. This creates 2 problems: First, it is difficult to get under the spring bars on some watches. The 2nd issue is that because the material is so much thicker than a standard NATO and they've used the same hardware as the standard NATO, it's very very difficult, once the end of the band has passed through once, to loop the end back and through a 2nd time. This makes getting the watch on/off a time-consuming struggle.
It's too bad, because I really want to like this strap, but every time I put it on my Citizen Promaster diver I actually have to take the spring bars off and then use them to push the band down when re-installing. then the hassle of putting on the wrist described above. NATOs are supposed to be quick to swap. this one isn't.
Strap reviewed: 20mm Desert Sand (for a Hamilton Khaki hand-wind).
+ Colour is spot on
+ Light and comfy
+ Rounded end is much better looking than a 'V'
+ Excellent quality canvas with a nice 'feel'.
+ Sturdy brushed hardware
+ The weave is at right angles to the stitching as it should be (rather than at an angle).
+ Stitching is straight and the colour compliments the strap very well
+ Good length measured at 290mm excluding buckle.
+ Keepers are the right height. A little tight with a new strap, but have had no problem tucking excess strap into the keepers (as a few reviewers have remarked). Better a little tight than too loose. With a double layer canvas strap it's much better to tuck the excess towards the outside (directly under the keeper) rather than faffing about tucking on the inside (like a NATO where there's only one layer of stiff nylon to tuck). Much easier to Just grab the end of the strap to pull through.
+ Plenty of adjustment holes so you're certain to find a comfy fit.
Cons: (just one - a nitpick)
- The strap is very similar to the precursor of the NATO, a single pull-through made with webbing from a Ministry Of Defence specification of the early 1950s. Interestingly, the MOD decided that the metal keepers should be mounted the other way round, i.e. with the underneath keeper-holding part of the Zuludiver on top of the strap instead. This would have been a much better option on this strap too since there will always be a gap between the 12 o'clock spring bar and the strap closest to the wrist, where the keeper-holding part sits. This will result in a nice collection of dust and dirt under the strap meaning more washing (of the strap!). With the original MOD design this would be lessened since the strap would sit closer to the wrist. A small point, but worth mentioning.
Overall: A very good effort. I hope Zuludiver continue to offer these and have a think about the slight redesign. 9/10.
Stiff at first but wear it and wash it a few times and it softens beautifully. It also fades to give a natural weathered look. It instantly became my favorite so nice I ordered another.
very nice thick zulu. I would prefer a little more room in the metal hardware. it really is a struggle to get the loop in.
The canvas is very high quality and much more comfortable than nylon. Since it's a zulu it only passes under the watch once, so it hugs my wrist more. I was somewhat hesitant to order once since a lot of the reviewers have said that it's hard to get the excess strap into the keeper. The first time it was tight for me, but once I got it in the first time I have not had further difficulties getting the strap back in the keeper.
Love it!! Looks and wears great. Hardware is excellent quality and the finish and stitching is excellent. That second keeper either needs to be adjustable or wider though guys then you would have a 5 star product!
Good quality strap and well made. Very comfortable and not to long so there isn’t loads of excess strap to tuck back.
Would be 5 stars if the second keeper was a sliding one.
Good quality strap ideal for the hot summer weather only slight issue is the excess part of the strap is a very tight fit to tuck into the keeper perhaps it should be a bit wider to accommodate the thickness of the canvas. Having said that I am enjoying the lightness of the strap with my Sinn 556i in the summer weather opposed to leather.
I purchased the 22mm canvas strap in Army Green and I am very pleased with the product. Very comfortable and very well made. I wonder if the canvas straps could be made in regimental colors as well.
Just received this strap in Army Green so it's early days, but seems very comfortable so far.
The colour is quite a bit lighter than the picture would indicate. It is a pretty long strap and the keepers are quite narrow so it was quite difficult to loop the excess strap back through on itself (hopefully this will flatten down more with use).
I'm not sure I'd buy another one but would say so far it seems worth the price and it's good to find a one piece nato/RAF strap in canvas which I personally find to be much more comfortable than nylon to wear.
