The striking 42mm Formex REEF diver has a highly distinctive stainless-steel case which provides both deep dive security and aesthetic symmetry. A double gasket protects the crown, and the watch is fully tested to 300m of water resistance. Mirror polished bevels and brushed surfaces throughout the design create a pleasing balance between elegance and the brand’s high-octane spirit.
The REEF’s unidirectional rotatable bezel is made of an extremely hard and scratch-resistant Zirconium oxide ceramic with the graduations and numbers engraved by femtosecond laser pulsations. Each bezel takes one hour of precision engraving to achieve this three-dimensional effect. What’s more, the bezel can be removed by hand and changed for a different colour bezel. This is a one-of-a-kind system that you won’t find on any other dive watch!
The sunburst finished dial is manufactured in-house and available in multiple colours. The gradient for the different colours is sprayed by hand. The REEF’s bold hour markers are hand-applied and the hands and hour markers, along with a capsule on the bezel’s zero marker, are filled with Super-LumiNova BGW9 which emits a blue glow.
Powering the watch is a self-winding Chronometer certified Sellita SW300 base. This 25-jewel automatic movement is modified with a customised skeletonized rotor and gives a 42h power reserve. Formex purposely chose this thin movement as it allows the REEF to be just 11.4mm in height.
The REEF comes on a stainless-steel bracelet which features a buckle with a new patented fine-adjustment system, along with a completely re-engineered quick release system that allows you to remove the bracelet without tools.
Why This Watch?
About The Brand
Established in 1999 by two Swiss brothers as an independent watch manufacturer, with family roots in high-end watch manufacturing, the team developed platforms to exceed industry standards with newly developed smart engineering features. Fuelled by a passion for watches, the brand name and ethos derive from the unique shapes generated by all forms of extreme sport, whether on land or sea, i.e., Forme Extrème (extreme shape).
Formex’s uncompromising watch range covers the needs of most watch enthusiasts whether you require an uncomplicated, ultra-modern, chronometer for a black-tie event or a rugged dive watch for timing during intense sport or adventure.
