Doxa expand their Sub 200 range with the new C-Graph in six funky colours...
Back in 1967 Doxa came up with the novel idea of making a dive watch with an orange dial. Ever since then the company has become known for its use of bold colours, and has garnered quite the cult following.
However the reason they chose orange in the first place was more than just a mere fashion statement. Orange is supposedly one of the most legible colours underwater. The Doxa Sub 200 C-Graph
These days it’s fair to say that the bright colours Doxa uses are as much of a fashion statement as a practical feature. The new Sub 200 C-Graph is naturally available in a host of different shades. There are six in total: Black, silver, orange, yellow, turquoise, and navy blue. You can get each model on either a steel beads of rice bracelet, or a rubber strap whose shade matches the dial colour.
Of course, the Sub 200 C-Graph is still a true tool watch at heart, with all the usual refinements you’d expect. A healthy 200m depth rating, and a sapphire crystal mean it can take the rough and tumble a professional diver needs it to.

First Thoughts
At first glance the Sub 200 C-Graph is another winner for Doxa. It’s got the classic aesthetic we’ve come to expect from the brand, and builds nicely on the design of their standard Sub 200 model. Dive watch chronographs can look quite cluttered, but Doxa have done a great job of keeping the layout simple and legible.
I love the use of bold colours too. There’s something for everyone from your standard black to that bright eye-catching yellow. That said I’m not sure if the rubber straps for those brighter colours will detract from the watch in person. I can see the yellow, orange and turquoise options being quite loud on the wrist. That said, there’s always the option to have the watch on the bracelet, and I’m a sucker for a retro “beads of rice” style one. The bracelet clasp also comes with a diver’s extension, so that you can wear it over a wetsuit. It’s yet another neat practical feature that shows the Doxa is a serious dive watch.

With a 45mm wide and 17.4mm thick case, the Sub 200 C-Graph will most likely wear pretty large. This won't be for everyone, but the curves and chamfers of the case will help to make the watch seem slimmer in person.
Overall I’d say the Sub 200 C-Graph looks to be a great addition to Doxa’s line-up. It’s a nice evolution of the Sub 200 design, and like all Doxas, it skilfully treads the line between a playful statement piece and an affordable tool watch.
