The Sinn U1 is an impressive dive watch capable of depths of up to 1000 metres while remaining waterproof and low-pressure resistant, certified by DNV and tested based on European diving equipment standards EN 250/EN 14143.
The 44mm case is made from German submarine steel, renowned for its extreme resistance to sea water and is fitted with non-magnetic properties. The case and captive bezel also benefit from Sinn’s Black Hard Coating and Tegiment technology known for its extremely strong properties, keeping the high precision self-winding Sellita SW200-1 movement protected. The movement has a beat rate of 28,800bph and a seconds stop function.
The matte black dial boasts a clean look, with Super-LumiNova coated hands and indices, as well as a striking red detailing. The dial is housed under a thick sapphire crystal with antireflective coatings on each side.
Why This Watch?
About Sinn
Sinn Watches was founded in 1961 and has long been a big name in horology. The brand was originally focused on producing navigation clocks for cockpits, and this design is reflected in their collection of pilot watches decades later. Sinn promises uncompromising functionality in their watch collections, even in the most demanding conditions. Thanks to industry leading technologies such as Ar-Dehumidifying and antimagnetic construction, Tegiment steel hardening and temperature stabilized movements. It’s not surprising then, that Sinn is praised for their high-quality movements and materials and loved by collectors for their accuracy in extremely adverse conditions.
