Designed specifically with watch enthusiasts in mind, the WatchGecko 365nm UV LumeCheck Torch provides a quick and effective way to charge and inspect the luminous material on watch dials, hands and bezels.
Unlike the inexpensive 395nm UV torches commonly available, our torch uses a 365nm UV-A LED combined with a filter. The shorter wavelength efficiently excites luminous watch pigments such as LumiNova and Super-LumiNova, while producing less distracting visible violet light. The result is a cleaner view of the lume itself, allowing its colour and application to stand out more clearly.
That makes it an extremely useful little tool for collectors. Use it to quickly charge a watch before heading into the dark, compare the lume across different watches, inspect the application on hands and hour markers, or bring a dial to life for photography.
The filtered 365nm output is particularly useful when taking photographs. Because there is less visible purple contamination than you'd typically see from a 395nm light, it's easier to capture the actual colour of the luminous material rather than bathing the entire watch in violet light.
Compact enough to keep alongside your watch tools, the torch measures approximately 90 × 20mm and is constructed from lightweight aluminium alloy and it's IP65 water-resistance rating.
Whether you're checking the lume on a new arrival, photographing your collection or simply enjoying that satisfying full-dial glow, it's a small addition to the watch box that you'll find yourself reaching for surprisingly often.

Why 365nm?
Not all UV torches are equal.
Many inexpensive UV lights operate at around 395–400nm. They'll still activate watch lume, but because that wavelength sits closer to visible violet light, the torch itself produces a much more noticeable purple glow.
At 365nm, far less of that visible violet light competes with the lume. Add the torch's filter, and the difference becomes particularly useful when examining or photographing a watch: less purple reflection from the dial and crystal, and more emphasis on the luminous material itself.
For the best effect, use the torch indoors, in shade or in lower ambient light. A short exposure is generally all that's needed to bring a well-lumed dial to life.
UV LIGHT – Do not look directly into the light source or shine it into the eyes. Avoid prolonged exposure of the eyes or skin to UV light. Keep out of reach of children. This product emits UV-A radiation and is intended for brief inspection and illumination purposes.
