The Sinn 556 is a classically inspired sports watch, with a focus on clearly structured design that allows for optimum readability. The contemporary dial design highlights similarities to Sinn’s pilot and navigational cockpit clocks, though it’s upgraded with a sporty appearance.
The Sinn 556 I sports watch benefits from Sinn’s anti-magnetic, low-pressure resistant and waterproof construction, meeting the technical requirements for waterproofness to 20 bar as set out in standard DIN 8310.
The hands and indices have a luminous coating, which really stand out against the glossy black dial. The dial itself is housed under a sapphire crystal with antireflective coatings on both sides. The same crystal can be seen on the caseback, framing the self-winding Sellita SW200-1 movement all within a 38.5mm satinized stainless-steel case.
Why This Watch
- An elegantly designed sports watch with impressive legibility in any condition.
- Waterproof and low-pressure resistant to 200m with an anti-magnetic construction.
- At 38.5mm with a thickness of 11mm the case is very wearable and unobtrusive.
About Sinn
Sinn Watches was founded in 1961 and has long been a big name in horology. The brand was originally focused on producing navigation clocks for cockpits, and this design is reflected in their collection of pilot watches decades later. Sinn promises uncompromising functionality in their watch collections, even in the most demanding conditions. Thanks to industry leading technologies such as Ar-Dehumidifying and antimagnetic construction, Tegiment steel hardening and temperature stabilized movements. It’s not surprising then, that Sinn is praised for their high-quality movements and materials and loved by collectors for their accuracy in extremely adverse conditions.
