British watchmaker Christopher Ward have today unveiled the latest addition to their already impressive collection of Military of Defence (MoD) approved timepieces. The Christopher Ward C63 Valour is the first watch by the brand to be dedicated to all three of His Majesty King Charles III’s Armed Forces.

In an aesthetically pleasing nod to the Armed Forces to which it is dedicated, each subdial hand on the CW C63 Valour is colour-coded to represent the three brands of the Armed Forces: red for the British Army, dark blue for the Royal Navy and light blue for the Royal Air Force. On the case back, the heraldic crests of the Army, Navy and RAF can also be found and each have been adorned with the Queen’s crown in a touching tribute that demonstrates respect for late Queen Elizabeth II.

The dial is reminiscent of 1960’s sports chronographs with its reverse-panda colour scheme and Will Brackfield (designer at Christopher Ward) has elaborated on its design inspirations:

“When coming up with plans for the Valour, we drew inspiration from the British Military quartz watches of the 1980s, with applied and polished numerals, as well as our 'twin flags' logo, for added depth and legibility.”

The Christopher Ward C63 Valour is equipped with the thermos-compensated ETA Calibre G10.212i which features split timing function, Chronometer accuracy of +/- 10 seconds per year and re-introduces quartz technology to the CW catalogue. The movement is housed in a meticulously crafted 39mm stainless steel case with a slender height of 11.55mm and distinctive Christopher Ward flair, thanks its Light-catcher™ design.

“Inspired by a Melange of ‘Britishness’”, the Light-catcher™ case was innovated at a time when Christopher Ward sought to pioneer something that was uniquely and unarguably theirs. The Light-catcher™ case now appears on virtually all Christopher Ward models and in that regard the CW C63 Valour is expected to be no different.
