Maurice Lacroix, the renowned Swiss watchmaker, proudly unveils the latest addition to its collection, the PONTOS S Diver. Building upon the success of the original 2013 model, this revamped diver's watch incorporates a host of enhancements while preserving the essence of its predecessor, including its iconic design. During the development phase, Maurice Lacroix collaborated with Lidija Lijic, a world champion freediver and esteemed member of the ML Crew, renowned for her record-breaking underwater feats lasting an astonishing 5 minutes and 43 seconds. With her extraordinary pursuit of human limits, Lidija's expertise made her the perfect candidate to put the watch through its rigorous paces.

After the initial release of the first-generation PONTOS S Diver in 2013, Maurice Lacroix temporarily halted its production to focus on the highly successful AIKON line. However, the brand received an overwhelming number of requests for the reissuance of the beloved diver's watch. Responding to these demands, Maurice Lacroix proudly introduces the new version of the PONTOS S Diver, incorporating several improvements while staying true to the original model's spirit.

While this model is newly introduced, it faithfully adheres to the brand's renowned design language, encompassing an urban-inspired style. Crafted with meticulous precision in Maurice Lacroix's Swiss Manufacture, the PONTOS S Diver exemplifies the brand's commitment to delivering superior quality and undeniable value. Maurice Lacroix firmly believes in preserving certain timeless aspects.

During the development of the latest PONTOS S Diver, Maurice Lacroix sought input from Lidija Lijic, the exceptional ML Crew member and world champion freediver. Lidija's endeavors take her from exploring warm seas to diving beneath the ice in the Himalayas, exemplifying courage and an unwavering commitment to arduous training. Her experiences highlight the importance of mental strength in pushing the boundaries of human potential. Freediving, with its inherent risks, demands tremendous composure, concentration, and confidence.

Stéphane Waser, Managing Director of Maurice Lacroix, comments, "In the development of the latest PONTOS S Diver, we were determined to retain the essence of the first generation while pushing the boundaries of performance with various enhancements. As an ML Crew member, it was only logical to involve Lidija Lijic in testing the new model, fully exploring its capabilities in the depths of the ocean. Witnessing her achievements and immense talent firsthand, I was struck by her unwavering dedication, not just to her sport but to everything she pursues. She proved to be the perfect test pilot for this remarkable diver's watch, boasting a water resistance of 30 ATM. Lidija also attests to the watch's powerful statement on dry land!"

Encased within a 42mm case, the PONTOS S Diver is available in stainless steel or, for the first time, bronze. The hour and minute hands feature facets and are adorned with Super-LumiNova, while the minute hand boasts a colored border. Applied indexes, also lined with luminescent treatment, mark the hours, and subtle improvements to the original dial design enhance the clarity and prominence of the indexes and minute markings. Additionally, the date display is framed with a raised border, ensuring its prominence on the dial. Every detail is meticulously optimized to deliver unparalleled readability.

Conveniently positioned at 2 o'clock, a dedicated crown allows the wearer to adjust the internal rotating bezel, featuring a count-up scale to measure elapsed time underwater. The watch also features a center seconds hand and a date display at 6 o'clock. A second crown at 3 o'clock adjusts various indications and allows manual winding of the movement.

The new PONTOS S Diver offers a range of options. Steel models come with a choice of black grained or white lacquered dials. The limited-edition bronze model, limited to just 500 pieces, features a captivating blue grained dial. The crown at 2 o'clock is embellished with a color-coordinated circlet, ensuring its visibility even underwater.

At the heart of the PONTOS S Diver beats the automatic ML115 calibre, eliminating the need for manual winding when worn. The bronze version comes with two straps: a vintage dark blue leather strap adorned with the company's signature M-logo, and a dark blue rubber strap embossed with 'Maurice Lacroix.'

The model is the product of teamwork, inspired by Lidija’s search for improved performance, and has been tested in the most extreme conditions. It’s ideally suited to underwater exploration while also being the perfect accompaniment to city life.
