"Designed to endure the hardest Finnish winter and to dive under the ice with the Ice Freediving World Champion, Johanna Nordblad, the Goutte d’Eau endures the toughest challenges either above or underwater."

Isotope was kind enough to send us two versions of their latest dive watch - the Goutte d'Eau, fitted with both the reliable Seiko NH35 movement & Sellita SW200. Featuring a solid 316L stainless steel case & coming in at 40mm wide with a 13.4mm thickness (for this movement version), this watch has a nice weight to it while not being too large or cumbersome for everyday wear.

It features a nicely fit solid bracelet with an interesting custom design, I think that the bracelet compliments the design of the watch however personally I wish it tapered a bit more to help bring more attention to the watch itself.

This watch also features a ratchet-extension divers buckle, which feels very secure and although it is a bit large for my taste I think it will appeal nicely to true fans of divers watches.

As you can expect from a modern diver, the watch has a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and a screw-down case back. The watch is waterproof to 200 meters which I think is perfect to achieve the balance between practicality and wear-ability.

The main feature of the watch is the inner rotating bezel which can be operated with the crown at 2 o'clock, a fantastic feature and makes the watch much more interesting than if it just had a normal rotating bezel. I also think that the symmetrical nature of the double crown blends effortlessly into this squared case style.

At £379 for the NH35 versions I think this is verging on the expensive side if you only consider the specification, but I do think that ultimately this watch offers great value. You get a uniquely designed watch with a custom bracelet & inner-rotating bezel that is made in small quantities and should serve you excellently for the years to come thanks to the extremely reliable Seiko movement. For those of you who like Swiss movements, for £519 you have the option of the Selita movement which does also slim the case down which is quite an attractive offering if you are planning to wear it every day for the coming years!
