Montblanc is synonymous with beautiful personal items and an iconic snowcapped logo. They have long built a reputation of excellence with individual products and have been one of the few luxury manufacturers to transition into watches with some success, to a point where the watch side of the business can stand alone from the rest of the company.

The Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date collection was launched in 2022, inspired by the glacial ice from the Mer de Glace on the Mont-Blanc massif. For 2024, we have two new 300m models: a bronze-tone model with a black glacier pattern dial and a stainless-steel version with a new burgundy-tone glacier pattern dial. We also have a new professional titanium model which can dive to an eyewatering 4180m.

The new Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date features a black glacier pattern dial with a bronze-tone case. The new bronze watch is machined from cupro aluminium, a special alloy one and a half times more resistant than bronze and highly resistant to corrosion and rust. It is made of aluminium and copper and will still obtain an attractive patina.

The bronze diver comes with a bi-colour unidirectional anodized aluminium bezel, a new Montblanc Iced Sea logo inspired by a vintage Minerva export seal, and a 3D engraving on the titanium case back with a bronze-toned coating that features a more prominent scuba diver. The timepiece comes on an interchangeable black rubber strap with a brown outline.

The second new steel edition introduces a brand-new burgundy-tone dial inspired by the deep red colour of the evening sun hitting the glacier. We assume something you need to see to appreciate the watch fully. The watch has a new black ceramic unidirectional bezel and is fitted with a stainless-steel dive bracelet.

The glacial pattern of the watch is created using a technique called gratté-boisé, while the process for the 3D engravings on the case back is made with a laser and a series of matte and shiny finishes, creating a distinct contrast.

Irrespective of case construction, each timepiece has undergone the unique Montblanc Laboratory Test to ensure that they are shock, magnetic, temperature, and water-resistant down to 300m. The dials also have the expected Super-LumiNova® on the hands, indexes, and the dots at 12 o'clock on the bezel. Automatic movements power the bronze and steel Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date timepieces and indicate the hours, minutes, seconds, and a date at three o'clock.

Montblanc Iced Sea 0 Oxygen Deep 4810

If you are a professional deep sea diver, the standard issue 300m watches may need to be revised for intense work, but Montblanc has you covered. 2024 also sees the release of the super-professional 0 Oxygen Deep 4810.

Housed in a new 43mm titanium case with a screw-down crown, this diving watch comes with a case back showing a 3D engraving of the view divers see when diving underneath the ice. This effect is created in a three-dimensional relief achieved by laser-generated oxidization that structures the metal with both matte and shiny finishes to create contrasts of colour and texture. As the timepiece needs to be visible in all conditions and depths, Montblanc has incorporated white Super-LumiNova into the hands, indexes and a dot at 12 o'clock, which all glow in a luminescent shade of blue in low light.

What is Zero Oxygen?

The Montblanc Iced Sea 0 Oxygen Deep 4810 is part of the brand's "Zero Oxygen" range, which has been designed to provide several benefits for owners who need their equipment to work in harsh environments. Assembled in a vacuum, Zero oxygen inside the case eliminates fogging and prevents oxidization. Components last longer and will provide continued precision over time. Each timepiece comes with a certificate for this unique construction process.

The 4180 is powered by Montblanc's COSC-certified, automatic MB 29.29 movement, with five days of power reserve. It is also completed with an interchangeable black rubber strap tapered in a V-shape and can be easily adjusted directly on the wrist, even when wearing a wetsuit.
