The worlds of sport and watches has always, and probably will always, be intricately intertwined. One watch brand that doesn’t recall many sports collaborations, however, is Sinn. But it appears the German watch manufacturer has a history with Eintracht Frankfurt, one they are reliving in their latest release: the Sinn Model 910 Eintracht.

Back in 2010, Eintracht and Sinn Spezialuhren created the first Eintracht watch called the ‘Sinn 956 Adler’. The pair were united by a passion for precision and performance. Sinn apply these ideologies to their mechanical watches while Eintracht Frankfurt, one of the oldest and most successful sporting clubs in Germany, consider them an essential aspect of their teams’ successes. Both also showcase a commitment to upholding tradition and share a profound connection to the Hessian metropolis that serves as their home.

In celebration of Eintracht Frankfurt’s 125th anniversary, which officially takes place on March 8, 2024, Sinn Spezialuhren has announced a new 500-piece limited edition watch. The design is understandably a chronograph, a complication that is intrinsically linked with sports and Sinn as a brand. It arrives with plenty of impressive spec, a rather dressy aesthetic and several references to the sports club.

Starting with the case, the Sinn Model 910 Eintracht 125th Anniversary Chronograph is engineered from polished and satin-brushed stainless steel. It has a fixed, thin, almost non-existent bezel and sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The case back is also glass and screw-fastened allowing for a reasonable water-resistant rating of 100 metres. As for dimensions, it sits at 41.5mm wide, 15.6mm thick and with a lug width of 22mm.

The collaboration between Sinn and Eintracht Frankfurt is most noted on the dial. The black silk-matte display presents two subsidiary counters at 9 and 6 o’clock. The former is for the running seconds while the latter is a 60 minute chronograph counter. The 3 o’clock counter has been created with a subtle reference to the club’s more popular sport: football. And when we say subtle, we really mean subtle.

According to Sinn, the 45-minute period of the counter circle is marked in glossy black so that spectators in a football stadium can monitor half-time. I’ll be honest, from the images provided, I cannot see any visual highlighting on the counter. Hopefully it’s made a little more obvious if we’re ever fortunate to see this watch in person. More obviously, the Eintracht Frankfurt logo is placed at 6 o’clock sitting in parrel to Sinn’s own emblem.

Both the stop minute hand and stop second hand are finished in a bright, shiny red while the printed numerals and hour and minute hands are decorated in white. The combination of colours reflects those associated with the club. The numerals and hour and minute hands are also joined by luminescent coating for readability in the dark.

Powering the Sinn Model 910 Eintracht watch is the SZ05 automatic winding chronograph movement. Based on the Valjoux 7550, it comes with 28 jewels, a frequency of 28,800vph and runs for around 48 hours before requiring rewinding. As mentioned, you can see the movement through the watch’s case back including its unique limited edition status out of 500 pieces on the striped oscillating rotor.

The Sinn Model 910 Eintracht 125th Anniversary Chronograph arrives with both a five-row link stainless steel bracelet and a black vintage-look cowhide leather strap with red stitching. For me, the bracelet is the obvious choice, and it gives the watch a similar look to the Sinn Frankfurt. It’s a handsome watch, becoming both dressy and sporty all at once.

Delivery for the novelty will begin on Eintracht Frankfurt’s birthday, 8 March 2024, but you can pre-order one of the 500 limited pieces ahead of time for €4,950.

Technical Specifications:

  • Brand: Sinn
  • Model: Model 910 Eintracht
  • Price: €4,950
  • Material: Stainless steel
  • Movement: Sinn SZ05 automatic winding

  • Crystal: Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inside
  • Dial: Matte-silk black with luminous hands and numerals
  • Size: 41.5mm
  • When the reviewer would personally wear it: I’m not sure I would, purely for its sizing, but it would make a nice men’s dress watch.
  • A friend we’d recommend it to first: A supporter of Eintracht Frankfurt.
  • Best characteristics of the watch: The layout of the dial is very nice. It’s clean and not overly cluttered; something that happens all too often with collaboration watches.
  • The worst characteristics of the watch: It looks like a dress watch, but it does have a fairly thick case. This will no doubt be a turn-off for some.
