This monochromatic simple dress watch turns out to be a bit of a strap monster...
"Redentore is inspired by the masterpiece of the famous Venetian architect Andrea Palladio (1508-1580), father of the Neoclassical style. The classic and minimalist design embodies the ideals of the Serenissima Republic, combining tradition, research and innovation. Diamond cut indices beautifully decorate the dial while the shining 316L surgical stainless steel case is hand polished." - Meccaniche Veneziane
We think this watch serves as the perfect example of how the right strap can transform the watches style, and today I have picked out some of my favourites to share with you:
First up is one of our most popular and classic straps. This handmade Italian leather strap adds that perfect vintage touch to any watch and seems to look great all year round. I like how this strap dresses down the watch and gives it a vintage dress watch vibe, the other great thing about this strap is that it will age nicely as it burnishes from the oils of your skin, so will just keep getting better and better.
Next is this classic dress style strap with deployment buckle, which suits the watch in a large variety of the leather choices. Here I have picked my 2 favourites which I think complement the watch in different ways.
Firstly is the dark brown option, this has a similar effect as the previous strap by giving the watch a great vintage look. The off-white stitching helps to give some sense of warmth to the white dial (definitely helped by the sun in this picture!) and the brown leather looks effortlessly cool.
Next up is pretty much the exact opposite with our Black Gloss Croc option, this keeps the watch fully dressed up and ready to be worn to dinner. It's hard to beat the classic combination of a black strap on a white dial watch and I think this just about proves that. This combination really lets the watch shine through and puts it in the spotlight. Also the deployment buckle makes for a very stylish and comfortable wear.
This specific strap is made using top grain leathers and is slightly padded, giving it the ultimate comfortable feel as well as burnishing nicely and conforming to your wrist over time, a great choice which blends vintage and modern style.
My final strap choice is definitely summer-appropriate!
The Blue / Orange version of our Veryan Military Nylon brings the casual cool and thanks to the lack of colour on the watch, it doesn't clash at all (despite the loud colours!). The white stripes in the middle perfectly blend with the dial while the rest gives that welcome pop of colour for those warm summer months.
Don't be afraid to experiment
Despite this being a pretty simple classic watch, I wanted to use this as the opportunity to show you that you can use more than just dress straps and that actually the more simple the watch, the more straps it will work with in most cases. These have been a few of my favourite picks but this watch will work with just about anything so I encourage you to experiment and find your perfect combinations as well!
We would like to take this chance to thank Meccaniche Veneziane for sending the watch to us to try some straps on, you can check out their website here.
