WatchGecko is delighted to announce the exclusive UK launch of the Ocean To Orbit Himalayan Project - a remarkable new collection of expedition-ready tool watches that combine rugged engineering, premium materials, and genuine mountaineering heritage.
Set to ship in May 2026, the Himalayan Project range represents Ocean To Orbit’s boldest creation yet - a timepiece forged in titanium and tested at altitude, designed to perform in the harshest environments on Earth.
A Watch Built for the Summit
The Himalayan Project has been developed and tested with Mingma Sherpa David, one of Nepal’s most accomplished climbers and a five-time world record holder. Wearing early prototypes on real Himalayan expeditions, Mingma helped refine the watch’s ergonomics, legibility, and durability in true field conditions.
Crafted from Grade 5 titanium, the case measures 40mm in diameter and just 11.5mm thick, offering the ideal balance of strength and comfort. The sapphire crystal features a distinctive box-dome profile for outstanding clarity, while Lumicast indexes and double-thickness Super-LumiNova hands ensure visibility long after sunset.
Inside beats the proven SW200-1 automatic movement, offering Swiss precision and reliability to match its mountaineering spirit. Water resistant to 100 metres, the watch is equally at home on a rope line or in the city.
Four Colours Inspired by the Himalayas
Each of the four models in the Himalayan Project collection draws inspiration from a different aspect of the mountain landscape:
Base Camp: Rugged, understated tone symbolising where every great expedition begins.
Gokyo Blue: Vivid dial evoking the deep glacial lakes of the Gokyo Valley.
Rock Salt: Pale, mineral finish reminiscent of the raw Himalayan peaks.
Echo: Dark, resonant tone that mirrors the stillness of high-altitude peaks.
Every watch includes an integrated rubber strap, a branded OCTOPOD strap-change system, and a single-pass nylon adventure strap, giving owners the flexibility to adapt from expedition to everyday wear.
The Development Process
The Ocean To Orbit Himalayan Project was available for pre-order exclusively through WatchGecko for UK customers. A daring new project such as this requires time and development to get right.
After working closely with the manufacturers, the brand is now confident in the finishing processes of the case back, the first of it's kind on Grade 5 Titanium.
Delivery: Expected May 2026.
Availability from WatchGecko: UK-only – to ensure full warranty coverage, simplified service, and duty-free delivery.
Quantities were limited for this pre-order allocation. Each piece will be assembled to order and delivered with an official Ocean To Orbit guarantee.
Secure Your Place on the Expedition
The Himalayan Project reflects the growing movement toward purposeful design in modern watchmaking. Rather than chasing luxury for its own sake, Ocean To Orbit has built a watch that reconnects with the original spirit of mechanical adventure – a true tool watch that values resilience, function, and authenticity.
Whether your next expedition takes you to the Himalaya or the high street, this is a watch built to go the distance.
Now that the pre-order and development stages are complete, the watch is set to be available for general sale in the summer of 2026.
Attendees of Glasgow Watch Show on Saturday 9th May will get the opportunity to view the first production Rock Salt in the UK!
