In tribute to the golden era of cycling, Bravur have released a new series of watches, aptly named Team Heritage. A collection of contemporary watches crafted in inspiration of the style of iconic teams from the 50s-80s, Bravur are celebrating cycling’s golden era with a collection of luxury Swedish timepieces.

With each piece being hand assembled in Båstad, Sweden, the Team Heritage series is a combination of sleek, contemporary design with a classic touch. Having already released the Grand Tour Series, watch fans might be familiar with Bravur’s existing cycling-themed timepieces, namely the La Corsa Rosa, Le Grande Boucle and the La Vuelta. The three new models, however, are a representation of three iconic cycling teams. The governing body of cycling, otherwise known as the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), is responsible for assigning every team with a distinct three-letter code. In that spirit, Bravur have named their new models PEU, REN, and MER.
Johan Sahlin (Co-founder of Bravur) commented:
“We are excited to add the new Team Heritage to our collection... the Team Heritage series embodies a lifestyle ethos celebrating elegance, sophistication and individuality. At the heart of this collection lies our appreciation for cycling’s rich heritage. It is an endless source of inspiration with its timeless fashion, strong graphics, vibrant colors, and distinctive patterns."

The first of the new models, the PEU, has been designed in tribute to the renowned French team, Peugeot. The dial is decorated by a checkerboard pattern reminiscent of the trademark jersey worn by team members between 1963 and 1986. With black squares marking the hour indices and a small, checkered section at the 12h index, clear legibility is ensured, as well as strong character.
The REN, however, takes its design cues from the yellow, black, and white jersey’s worn by the Renault team who dominated the sport between 1978 to 1983 and is complete with sandwich dial, the lower level of which is bedecked with the iconic team stripes and creates an illusion of floating.

The boldest of the three new releases is the MER. Exclusively available in a steel case and inspired by Mercier, the MER has a unique purple and yellow dial to honour the French team who hold the record for the highest number of participations in Tour de France. The dial is made up of a ring with a radial brush, heavy frosted surface and a yellow chamfered chapter ring whilst the hour indices are made of a thick Super LumiNova colour to ensure the timepiece is readable in darkness.

Each of the watches in the Team Heritage series offers increased scratch protection thanks to a domed sapphire crystal and an integrated sculpted crown guard. Various strap options are also available in perforated leather or FKM rubber for maximum comfort. Tailored to suit slender wrists, Bravur’s new models promise to be a pleasing daily companion on and off the bike.
