“When Haute Joaillere meets Haut Horlogerie”

The origins of this collaboration have been a long time coming, with Alexandre Beauregard and Vianney Halter discovering a shared vision at Baselworld back in 2019. Following several years of research and a three-year developmental period, we can fast forward to Watches and Wonders 2024 where the pair have joined forces to unveil the Ulysse, a watch born from Halter’s avant-garde approach and Beauregard’s dedication to producing timepieces for women.

Blending organic beauty with mechanical precision, the Ulysse masterfully combines technique with aesthetics to form an “art piece”, something you might not hear every watch described as, but something both collaborators passionately aspire to each time they create.

Featuring a stunning array of 68 miniature Aqua Marine components, selected for their purity and delicate colour, the dial is instantly beguiling and a Beauregard hallmark. Inspired by the concept of stained glass, the Aqua Marine gems have been meticulously hand-cut and are nestled within a bed of intricately laid gold lacework. Each stone uniquely reflects light thanks to a disk of mother-of-pearl cleverly positioned beneath the stone and the hands, curved to follow the shape of the dial, are given the effect of dancing above this dazzling mosaic.

With its 56-hour power reserve, the movement of choice is, naturally, Vianney’s mysterious automatic movement. Durability is ensured, as is easy maintenance, thanks to the use of maillechort – a material favoured for its superior quality when compared to brass. An unobstructed view of its intricate inner workings is offered through the patented ‘invisible’ rotor which is kept safe underneath the engraved screw-down back with gold engraving highlighted in blue lacquer.

Housed in a 41mm case in 18k rose gold, with domed sapphire and crown adorned with an Aquamarine, the Ulysse is offered on a stitchless chestnut alligator strap. The extremely limited series of 10 Ulysse pieces was unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2024 at a retail price of CHF 110,000 (excluding VAT).
