The pre-owned watch market is bigger than ever and savvy watch collectors regularly scour the internet for the best hidden gems. Welcome back to the WatchGecko Nearly New Range.
A reminder - what are our Nearly New Watches?
These unique purchase watches come from three primary sources. They are mostly photographic samples which we have pulled from new deliveries to become photo-models. These watches have never been owned and once they have finished their time as in the studio we really cannot sell them as brand new, even though some still have manufacturer stickers on them. They represent an amazing opportunity to own "new" watches at bargain prices which still come with a six month WatchGecko warranty and often the balance of the manufacturers warranty.
Another source will be customer returns. When we take possession of a return we obviously cannot resell them as new so we carefully look at each watch and decide if it is suitable for Nearly New. Any selected are subjected to the same QC process as new watches and also have the same warranty benefits as the photo samples.
So, here is our choice for April 2023

The Geckota Sea Hunter Slimline takes this model in a new direction, featuring a much curvier and sleeker case design. The 316L stainless-steel case plays beautifully with the light using a combination of brushed and polished surfaces, a sloping fixed bezel, an arching crown guard and contouring lugs.
The watch comes in 4 dial colours with matte and sunray textures. The hands and hour markers are lumed with Super-LumiNova® and are housed under a curved edge-box sapphire crystal with an underside anti-reflective coating.
Powering the Sea-Hunter Slimline is a Miyota 9039 automatic movement, a reliable and easily serviceable movement under a screw-down caseback. Fitted on a solid stainless-steel H-Link bracelet with contrasting brushed and polished finishes, a micro-adjustment clasp and quick-release spring bars. The bracelet has screw in links which can be removed with a 1.2mm screwdriver.
All Geckota watches are made in very limited batches, with a unique serial number engraved on each caseback

Inspired by timepieces of the 1950s, the Ensign introduces a classic taste to our current range of chronographs. This is a watch designed for those who want to experience one of the greatest eras of watch design, and with a sapphire crystal and robust construction, this is a watch which looks vintage but is ready for everyday wear.
The gold hands and polished detail contrast the subtle sunburst dial and brushed finish of the case, creating a timeless look. Using the reliable VK64 movement, the subdial on the left counts the chronograph minutes when it's running, and the subdial on the right counts through the hours of the day in a 24-hour format.
This model is fitted with a high-quality Stanway vintage v-stitch genuine Italian suede watch strap.

The Ensign houses the VK64 movement. Manufactured by Seiko, the VK64 is a hybrid mecaquartz movement. It is a chronograph movement that uses quartz for the main functions and a mechanical module for the chronograph. Part of this includes a smoother sweeping chronograph hand, as opposed to the slightly choppier ticking hand found on standard chronographs.
