With British Watchmakers’ Day set to take place on March 9th this year and excitement building as expected, British watch brand Christopher Ward have announced the release of a highly exclusive new edition. Taking place at Lindley Hall in London, the event will see the unveiling of the latest dazzling colourway in the Bel Canto collection. To celebrate the first ever occurrence of this exciting event, Christopher Ward will be bringing a highly limited run of 10 pieces which will be exclusively available to purchase in-person at Lindley Hall.

As Christoper Ward is a founding brand of the Alliance of British Watch and Clockmakers it only makes sense that the new edition celebrates Britain in its bold aesthetic choices. Mike France, CEO and Co-Founder of the brand, describes the Bel Canto 9324 as being “very British” and anticipated to “offer an insight into the future development of the collection”. Featuring a laser-etched Union Jack on its plating, the Bel Canto 9324 is decorated with a combination of polishing, Clous de Paris and Finque guilloche. The brass platine has then been positive coated with a decadent, deep blue that is in fact deeper and darker than the initial Auzzurro 300-piece LE. This innovative design change highlights the meticulous finishing and adds an heir of regalness to the overall design which is an appropriate nod to the royal history that envelopes the capital in which the event is to take place. For the first time ever on a Bel Canto watch, Roman numerals have been introduced on the two-piece time-telling dial. These have been carefully colour-matched to the platine in another move that highlights the watches style and elegance. The dial also has a circular brushed base layer, and a polished and chamfered top ring which houses a printed minute track.

Every penny of the profits from the sales of the exclusive Bel Canto watches available will be directly donated to The Alliance of British Watch and Clockmakers. The donation will greatly aid the continuation of The Alliance’s work in championing and supporting the sector worldwide. There will be only 10 of these pieces available and a raffle system will be utilised to ensure fair distribution amongst watch lovers and collectors at the event. These stunning new additions will be available only at Lindley Hall on the day of the event (March 9th 2024) and the price point has been set at £4,995.
