A distinctive dial
Among watch dials, eggshell is rare. Not white, not beige, somewhere between the two, with a domed, matte surface that absorbs light rather than reflecting it. This is a dial that looks different at every hour of the day: warmer in candlelight, crisper in sunlight, almost luminous at dusk. It pairs effortlessly with formal dress or weekend wear, and it ages well, the kind of dial that looks better after five years on the wrist than the day it arrived.
The complication you keep to yourself Flip the watch. Wind the crown. Through the flat sapphire caseback, a miniature penguin automaton comes to life animated not by a battery or a separate motor, but by the same winding motion that powers the Soprod P054 hand-wound movement itself. A cam system integrated into the modified movement translates rotary winding into vertical animation. Stop winding, the penguin stops. It is a private mechanical spectacle, entirely invisible from the front.
Built to be worn
The 38mm 316L stainless steel case is 12.45mm thick, with 45mm lug-to-lug a size that sits comfortably on most wrists without overwhelming. The screw-down crown brings water resistance to 10 ATM / 100 metres. A double-domed sapphire crystal offers scratch resistance and optical clarity. The alternating polished and brushed case finishing means the watch catches light without being flashy.
