Ocean to Orbit Lhotse (38.5 mm Automatic)
A refined tool watch designed for real life - the Ocean to Orbit Lhotse blends precision engineering, thoughtful design, and a spirit of exploration. Compact yet substantial, it’s a modern all-rounder built to perform anywhere: from ocean to orbit, and every adventure in between.
The Lhotse - Designed for Everyday Exploration
The Lhotse represents Ocean to Orbit’s founding mission: to craft mechanical watches that unite functionality, versatility, and story. Created by two automotive designers in Melbourne, the brand applies design discipline and real-world testing to every curve, texture, and proportion.
Named after Mount Lhotse - the world’s fourth-highest peak and quiet neighbour to Everest - this model captures that balance between ambition and restraint. It’s purpose-built for those who value dependable mechanics and design depth in equal measure.
-
Balanced, versatile proportions
With a 38.5 mm case, 47 mm lug-to-lug, and slim 11.5 mm profile, the Lhotse wears comfortably on almost any wrist. It delivers presence without bulk - refined enough for formal settings, durable enough for the outdoors. -
Swiss precision inside
Powered by the STP 1-21 automatic movement, the Lhotse offers around 40 hours of power reserve with a smooth 28,800 bph sweep, hacking seconds, and manual winding. Its clean, no-date layout keeps the dial symmetrical and distraction-free. -
Durability meets elegance
A 316L stainless-steel case combines brushed and polished finishes for visual contrast and wear resistance. The sapphire crystal is box-domed with internal anti-reflective coating, ensuring clarity in all lighting. -
Built for daily use
Rated to 100m of water resistance and fitted with a screw-down crown, the Lhotse is ready for whatever your day brings - from office to open water. The drilled lugs make strap changes quick and easy. -
Designed with intention
Every detail serves a purpose. The unique handset - inspired by a rocket’s form - reflects the brand’s ethos: celebrating the journey from exploration’s first spark to its highest peaks. -
Comfortable and adaptable
The Lhotse ships on a solid 316L stainless-steel bracelet with screw-pin links and a push-button clasp featuring fine micro-adjustments. Its 20mm lug width ensures compatibility with a wide range of straps for quick styling changes.
The Story Behind the Brand
Founded in 2020 by David Dewitt and Siddhartha Kazami, Ocean to Orbit brings together over 35 years of design experience from the automotive industry. Their philosophy is simple: to create watches that are aesthetically balanced, mechanically sound, and emotionally engaging.
Each model is built as a design exercise in proportion and purpose - functional enough for explorers, but refined enough for collectors. Prototypes have even accompanied Nepali mountaineer Purnima Shrestha on Himalayan ascents, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to making watches that work beyond the drawing board.
