Ocean To Orbit LHOTSE Blue Steel 38.5mm Bracelet

From the beginning, we decided that every watch we design and make would have a story. The conversation we had in December largely centred on watches worn by the great explorers and pioneers of the early to mid-20th century, watches like the Omega 2287, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual and the Smiths A409. All worn during the expedition to Mt Everest, when Edmund Hilary and Tenzing Norgay reached the summit on the 29th of May 1953.

Created to celebrate the launch of our first watch, the LHOTSE x WEM limited edition is a collaboration between Ocean To Orbit and Watch Enthusiasts Melbourne. As a show of appreciation to the members of our local watch community for their support and encouragement, we present this unique edition to the collection. Featuring a tuxedo dial in metallic blue and silver, this edition is limited to 50 pieces, individually numbered and will include a custom-made NYLON strap, designed to complement this model.

Rising to a staggering 8,516 meters (27,940 feet), Mount Lhotse is the fourth-highest mountain in the world. Located right next to Mount Everest, it shares much of Everest’s route and base camp, yet it retains its own distinct identity, often overlooked by climbers and tourists alike.

Born in Arughat, Gorkha, Nepal, Purnima Shrestha began life far from the glacial peaks she’d eventually ascend. Raised in a farming community, her story transformed dramatically after covering the Everest Marathon in 2017 as a photojournalist. Captivated by the Himalayas, her journey from journalist to mountaineer began that day.
