Water and earth. Depth and height. South and north. The Raider Sea Sky from Favre-Leuba is at home everywhere.....

The new dial variants in brilliant yellow or bright orange lend a unique, unorthodox style and zest for life, to this highly functional companion for modern explorers.

When Switzerland‘s second-oldest watch brand introduces new models, it not only draws on its history of innovation and technical excellence, but is guided by decades of design classics produced in its own ateliers. Every Favre-Leuba watch taps into a common thread of functionality and aesthetics that runs from the past to the present.

This approach also applies to models in the Raider line, watches made for people who conquer frontiers, those who grasp challenges and enjoy the thrill of adventure. The Raider Sea Sky is a perfect example of this. Water resistant to 200m, it combines the functionality of a chronograph with the practical benefits of a unidirectional rotating bezel that allows new reference points to be set time and time again. With its Swiss automatic movement, the Raider Sea Sky provides reliable current time information in its familiar analogue form. As a chronograph, however, it also measures seconds, minutes, and hours, and displays these precisely with the aid of a central Chronograph seconds hand and two counters at 3 and 6 o’clock.

The stop mechanism is supplemented by a small-seconds dial at 9 o’clock and a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock.

Yellow and orange to lift the spirits

With its brilliant yellow and bright orange, the Raider Sea Sky’s new dial versions express a zest for life and an overwhelming sense of power. They are also inspired by legendary models from the Favre-Leuba ateliers: as far back as the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Bathy 160 watch models and the then version of the Sea Sky were delighting the public with this bold Choice of colors. The black counters add a stylish accent. The indexes and hands, which are white in daylight and blue in the dark, clearly stand out and guarantee excellent readability under all conditions. The rotating bezel picks up the yellow and orange again against the backdrop of the black aluminum insert. The result is a timepiece with a trendy retro touch that will lift your spirits but remains confidently anchored in the here and now.

The expressive, sporty, and dynamic stainless steel case is the ideal setting for the new dial variants. An are extends across its sides from lug to lug, like a bridge across time. Polished parts contrast dramatically with satin surfaces. The inimitable bezel has high recognition value: instead of being round, it has been carefully worked into a tetradecagon. Once screwed together and perfectly aligned, the case back is kept in position thanks to a special mechanism, proving that no detail is too insignificant to escape Favre-Leuba’s full attention. The Raider Sea Sky can be customized to suit your taste and preferences, with strap options in stainless steel, brown or black calfskin, and black rubber.
