The first-of-its-kind Glasgow Watch Show is only a few days away now and it's going to be incredible to see the Scottish Watch Community come together to welcome great brands from across Europe. Ticket sales have been great, and there will be a fantastic buzz on the day. The City Centre venue includes a bar and restaurant, and we're creating a Meetup area for show attendees to hang out and talk watches.
The 33 Exhibitors cover a wide range of watches and there will be something for everyone on the day. Popular local brands Anordain and Paulin are bringing the team down to showcase their amazing enamel dials and colourful design cues. Cult brands such as Studio Underdog and Mr. Jones Watches join us with their latest models, including the new Avocado and Guacamole that go on sale just two days before! You'll be able to order these at the show!
There are tough, military-inspired timepieces from brands such as Micro Milspec, Vario, Timor and Mühle-Glashütte. These brands have totally different stories behind them but all offer interesting timepieces inspired by the armed forces past and present.
The Dive watch and Steel Sports Watch category is always extremely popular, and many different models will be available to try and buy on the day. Doxa from Switzerland need hardly any introduction as their popular range with its iconic case shape will be on display courtesy of James Porter and Sons. England-based brands Escudo, Golby, Helicon and Bremont all have great dive watches to offer those interested.
The show Sponsor Zing Cover will be on hand to explain watch insurance; burglary and street crime is often of concern to watch enthusiasts and their cover can provide some peace of mind given its unique features.
Independent watchmakers are pioneering interesting watch design, and brands such as Apiar, Ember, Pinion, Farer, Duckworth Prestex and Sidereus will display thoughtful and detailed models in Glasgow at very reasonable price points.
For the racing enthusiasts, MHD and Omologato are taking part with a range of watches featuring automotive design cues. For the technically-minded, Swiss brand Horage are bringing some incredibly clever movements to learn about. Their focus on improving things that have already been done well for a long time is fascinating.
German brands Junghans and Meistersinger bring something that little bit different; Junghans with their Bauhaus design cues deliver wonderfully simple and elegant timepieces. Meistersinger's unusual single-handed watches are instantly recognisable, and it's great to have the chance to try them for yourself.
The show is on Saturday 10th May, and there are still tickets left across all the timeslots but they are selling fast, so secure your spot now here. If you can't make it, many of these brands are exhibiting at the Hands on Horology Show in London in June, or The Manchester Watch Show in November.
