A reliable companion for even the toughest marine challenges since its conception in 1944, the MIDO brand has long been considered a pioneer thanks to its incorporation of impressive water-resistance capabilities and the invention of the Aquadura system in the 1930’s. The brand now revives the spirit of their historic successes and refreshes an already iconic collection with the addition of the special edition Ocean Star GMT.

With a striking blue and silver-coloured dial and “shark teeth” indexes you might be fooled into thinking the Ocean Star had a completely modern makeover, but MIDO continue to make nods to the classics. In keeping with the modest dimensions of the bygone era the Ocean Star GMT appears in a 40.5mm polished stainless steel case on a multi-link, satin-finished bracelet.
Offering impressive water resistance up to 200m (20 bars/660ft), an anti-magnetic Nicachron™ balance spring, its automatic Caliber 80 movement and an 80-hour power reserve, the Ocean Star GMT is more than capable of delivering the superior mechanical performance connoisseurs will have come to expect from MIDO but this time flaunts a clever GMT function.

Allowing the wearer to navigate seamlessly from home to away, across oceans near and far, the Ocean Star GMT displays two time zones simultaneously without sacrificing legibility. White Super LumiNova is destined to guide the way during any exploration whilst the red varnished hand points out the second time zone on the flange.
