5 min read

On Saturday 6 th December 2025 many of Britain’s best loved watch brands congregated in central London for the Time+Tide British Weekender 2.0!

Chris, Jorge and I were able to spend the whole day with the amazing brands that call this little isle home, so let’s take a closer look at what went down at the Discovery Studio this year.

Some of Your Favourite Brands Attended

Christopher Ward – Always able to impress, the CW team brought out all of the latest and greatest releases from Britain’s largest watch brand. From the sturdy C63 GMT to the bizarre but brilliant Bel Canto Lumièr, there was a lot of attention on all of the pieces they had to offer. And they caught our attention too as both Chirs and Jorge picked a CW in the challenge video we made on the day which you can watch here!

Sher Watches – We were very lucky to have Darren visit our HQ earlier in the year. He not only talked us through his wonderful watch collection, but also introduced us to his own watch brand, Sher Watches. A brand with a clear mission, to help children read the time, Sher Watches are well-made, affordable, durable, and most importantly, a heap of fun. Darren brought two new colours for his Kid’s watch, pink and blue, along with the collab watch with the podcast he co-hosts.

Fears – Bringing a touch of elegance and history to the lineup is one of Britain’s oldest watch brands. The team brought some of our personal favourite pieces in the Jump Hour ‘Barleycorn Plum’ and the Brunswick 38 ‘Charcoal Rose’. It’s always a pleasure to see these watches in person.

Roger W. Smith – A man that needs no introduction. Widely regarded as one of the greatest living watchmakers, Roger brought out a true showstopper in the Series 6. A £320,000, full 18k gold masterpiece that is handmade from start to finish by one watchmaker. There are few watches on Earth that can stand toe to toe with this masterpiece from the Isle of Man.

Beaucroft – It’s always a pleasure to catch up with Matt and Karim from Beaucroft, and as an added bonus they brought something new to the table. The Elements series is my favourite watch they make, combining designs from their hometown of Cambridge with beautiful dial colours and a wonderful three-link bracelet. Their new Temper Red dial colour is phenomenal and makes the whole watch appear more elegant, almost a dress version of their most popular sports watch. I love it.

Farer – Another established brand that has built reputation for design and toeing the line between sport and dress styling. We had the opportunity to get hands on with the new Integra and were suitably impressed. The quality of this watch is very high and the colours and textures of the dial are mesmerising.

If you attended the event, let me know what your favourite British brand is!

My Highlights

For me the highlights were as much about the people we met as the watches we saw. The Time+Tide team are always knowledgeable, friendly and have a deep appreciation for the British watch industry. The attendees, some of whom I’ve met before at previous shows and some I met for the first time, were as open and welcoming as the brands themselves.

Having the opportunity to meet with the brands that have shaped our industry is a privilege. Every person that I have met is so kind, humble and genuine, with a true deep-rooted passion for watches and watchmaking. Being able to speak to the people that have founded these brands gives you an insight into this industry unlike any other experience. Imagine being able to meet Hans Wilsdorf in the 1920s when Rolex was beginning to take off and chat to him about how he’s been able to build a watch brand from nothing, then you’ll have an idea of what these shows offer attendees.

A space in the centre of the capital city that is dedicated to highlighting small, independent watch brands, especially those based in the UK, is a wonderful thing. Able to gather watch enthusiasts from across the country to one location at the heart of British culture, the Time+Tide Discovery Studio is unlike anywhere else.

The Energy

It seems that whenever you gather a group of passionate enthusiasts in a room with the brands they are passionate about, led by creatives that are passionate, you start to get an energy that everyone feeds off. We felt it at Watchmaker’s Day 2025 and again at the British Weekender.

There was a buzz of excitement from attendees getting to try on the watches they’d seen only online to the brands speaking proudly about their watches. It was another reminder of the wonderful community we have in the UK and how unlike anywhere else in the world it is. Nowhere else can you find multiple brands that work together, share knowledge and are so welcoming to others. And it’s not just the smaller brands that can be included in that, everyone from the smallest and newest right the way up to the amazing Roger Smith who builds some of the finest watches in the world! All of them were there and all were eager to welcome you into their world.

In Conclusion

I feel very lucky to be able to share the love and excitement for British watchmaking at a venue in the heart of London. The event that was organised by the British Watch and Clock Maker’s Alliance and Time+Tide gave us a taste of what’s to come on 7 th March at British Watchmaker’s Day 2026.

As we head towards the new year with the excitement from the British Weekender 2.0 still fresh in our minds, I look forward to discovering what 2026 has in store for all of us watch enthusiasts!
