The aim of human exploration is the discovery of new lands and the Geckota Ocean-Scout watch was conceived from scratch to be a partner in this adventure.

Taking inspiration from new discoveries the Fall 2023 Sienna Brown Ocean-Scout brings an earthy Autumnal hue to what was an already sophisticated package with the time-honoured look of traditional navigational equipment.

To complement the existing portfolio of Ocean-Scout watches the new Sienna Brown collection brings two models, both of which have black dials with soft gold indices, brown bezels and a choice of either an unadorned stainless steel case or a gold-plated variant. The gold model also has a matching crown.

The 38.5mm 316L marine-grade stainless case is common to all models. It is eminently suitable for all straps but like the earlier Ocean-Scouts, the lug gap is specifically designed to accommodate a military nylon strap. The new watch is supplied on either a leather or nylon military strap, which will have metal work colour matched to your choice of case finish. And it is on these straps that the watch really shines. Whilst it can look nicely “field” on a two-piece leather the unique case style perfectly compliments the tucks and folds of a 1973 military strap so it will be well worth perfecting your style to maximise the impact of the watch.

The crown remains unguarded to project a vintage look, reminiscent of some of the great dive watches of the 1960s. Sapphire crystal keeps legibility clear the case back is engraved with a compass logo to reflect the inspiration behind the watch design.

The 2023 Sienna Brown also keeps the classic 3,6,9 numeral design with the markers applied in a unique soft gold luminous material. Sword hands reinforce the look from the golden age of travel and underwater activity.

Internally we have retained the reliable Miyota 9039 movement. This slim unit has a diameter of 26mm, a thickness of just 3.9mm and a height of only 5.6mm.  It has 24 Jewels, vibrates at 28,800 bph and has a Parashock system. A power reserve of 42+ hours will keep the watch running, and the Miyota 9000 Premium series also allows hand winding and hacking, and the date-free watch has no phantom crown position.

Despite the latest styling and finish enhancements, the Sienna Brown remains a thoroughly robust tool watch with 200 meters of water resistance and a 60-minute elapsed time bezel with a luminous pip at 12 0’clock.

The Sienna Brown Ocean-Scout marks an evolution of our latest watch inspired by the seasons which have, for generations, governed our travel times and the equipment we need to undertake a successful voyage.
