We are excited to introduce you to Nodus and their Sector collection, an affordable selection of Field, Dive and Sport watches.

Earlier last year, LA based brand Nodus announced that they were expanding on their Sector series, which included the 2019 release of the Sector Dive and Sector Field, with two new watches: the Pilot and Sport.

We have now become the exclusive UK retailer for Nodus watches, with their Sector Field, Sector Dive and Sector Sport watches available to purchase from WatchGecko.

Nodus has an ethos of providing high quality, affordable watches for all. Wesley Kwok and Cullen Chen founded Nodus back in 2017 in Los Angeles, doubling their production and releasing a range of successful, fast-selling tool watches since then. They have found success in America and are making a name for themselves internationally - through excellent design and a keen eye for what watch enthusiasts are after: quality finishing, utility, American-based assembly and highly accurate movements.

What we love about the Sector collection is that Nodus has managed to create a look that’s uniquely theirs. The collection is cohesive through a shared case design that’s so definite and adaptable, that Nodus wanted to make the case their foundation for a new family of watches. Yet what makes the Sector Series so distinct, are the modern updates on classic watch traits, and the way they’ve used colour has a lot to do with that.

At first glance, the moderately sized case in the Sector Series is characterized by their thick swooping lugs with bold chamfers. Nodus utilized varying bezel designs for each model, though unified the collection with its engraved Venn-diagram style motif on each caseback, representing the 4 models.

Each Nodus watch in the Sector series is waterproof to 100 metres and incorporates Swiss Super-LumiNova X1 Grade lume on the hands, indices and large numbers. Each case is crafted using stainless steel materials and feature domed flat-top sapphire crystals to aid legibility at even the most severe angles, while remaining tough and durable.

The Sector Field and Dive watches use a Seiko NH35 movement, while the Sector Sport uses a Seiko NH38 movement. This provides each model with up to 41 hours of power reserve, and the movements are regulated by Nodus in-house in four positions to +/- 10 seconds a day.

Let’s take a closer look at each model…

You’ll find all the key elements of a mil-spec field watch in the 38mm Sector Field, from easy legibility, waterproof construction, high accuracy and a 24-hour military time track. The Sector Field uses colour and an updated contemporary aesthetic to bring the 1940’s field watch into the 21st century.

The Field watch uses a mixture of high polished and sandblasted surfaces and looks sophisticated on a Nodus engraved H-link bracelet.

The Sector Field is also available with date or no-date displays.

The Sector Dive Watch

Nodus has taken inspiration from the popular Skin Diver watches from the mid-20th century for the Sector Dive Watch. These watches were desired for their shallower depth rating which allowed for a smaller, more refined design compared to standard-issue military watches at the time. The Sector Dive follows these design traits to create a dive watch with an impressively shallow height of only 13mm.

The stepped 39mm case design features a 120-click unidirectional bezel and solid screw-down caseback. The dial layout has a traditional 3-6-9 layout, reminiscent of the Rolex Explorer.

The Sector Dive watch is fastened with a sleek beads-of-rice strap with the engraved Nodus logo on the clasp.

The Sector Dive is also available with and without DLC bezels and with date or no-date displays.

Similarly to the Sector Dive, Nodus has gone with a ‘no frills – all thrills’ approach in designing the Sector Sport watch. The dial is free from distractions with large indices, featuring the same 3-6-9 dial layout as the Sector Dive so that time can be tracked reliably and quickly. However, the addition of a sunburst dial effect really does make the Sector Sport stand out in this collection. The 38mm Sector Sport comes with a quick-release H-Link strap featuring the engraved Nodus logo.
