At WatchGecko we take extreme pride in our ever-evolving catalogue of high-quality wristwatch replacement straps. We have popular options in leather, nylon, rubber, and a vast array of other materials, with collections such as the Highley and 1973 British Military straps becoming real staples for our brand.

Made up of six straps in six colours and crafted from three different types of leather, there is something in the Hanley range to suit every individual’s style.

Even though we’ve established a tried and tested core collection, it’s important to us that we can say designs are refreshed constantly and keep up with the needs of our customers. For that reason, it gives us great pleasure to present the Hanley Handmade Leather Watch Strap collection.

In the most classic of the six colourways, we have our Hanley Horween Chromexcel straps. A timeless option for those who’d like to dress up their timepiece, featuring an elegant flat design and adorned with a stainless-steel buckle that will never go out of style.

With old-world craftsmanship that has been passed down across generations, the straps promise to be supple and tactile, thanks to the Horween Chromexcel leather they have been crafted from. This strap is characterised by rich pull-up and will naturally develop patina over time, allowing the natural charm of authentic leather to shine through.

Badalassi Carlo "Pueblo" Leather Watch Straps

Badalassi Carlo “Pueblo” leather is a distinctive vegetable-tanned leather produced by the renowned Conceria Badalassi Carlo in Tuscany, Italy. The tannery is part of the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale, a group dedicated to preserving traditional Italian vegetable-tanning methods. Pueblo stands out immediately because of its matte, slightly rough surface, which is achieved through a unique finishing process that lightly abrades the grain. This treatment gives the leather a soft, almost chalky appearance that feels understated yet artisanal.

One of the defining characteristics of Pueblo leather is how dramatically it ages. When new, it has a dry, muted look, but with use, it quickly develops a rich patina. Oils from handling and exposure to light gradually darken the surface, smoothing the grain and bringing out depth and variation in colour. Over time, Pueblo transforms from a flat, matte finish into a warm, glossy leather with visible character, making each finished item entirely unique to its owner.

In terms of structure, Pueblo is firm yet pliable, offering a balance that makes it especially popular for small leather goods such as wallets, cardholders, watch straps, and notebook covers. It holds its shape well, burnishes beautifully at the edges, and responds nicely to hand stitching. While it may show marks and scratches more readily than heavily finished leathers, many makers and users see this as part of its appeal—each mark contributes to the story and personality of the piece.

These straps are produced from premium Epsom (Alpine) calfskin leather sourced in France. The natural grain of the leather is enhanced by its printed surface, which delivers plenty of character and has earned Epsom Alpine its status as the original luxury printed leather used by high-end fashion brands.

Appearing in two rich and striking colourways, are our Hanley Crazy Horse straps. Crazy Horse leather is known for its water-resistant properties and maintains a unique appearance due to the way the leather responds to waxing. Well-known for providing a timeless vintage aesthetic, the Crazy Horse leather is produced from rich full-grain cowhide with natural breathability that allows the leather to absorb oil from the skin, resulting in a glossy, polished look.
