With the release of the Geckota W-02 a few weeks back, Geckota have now introduced their latest line of W-01 watches too...

The initial release of the W-01 Workshop range saw Geckota bring something completely different to their collection of watches. A unique Jumping Hour timepiece with strong styling inspired by classic pocket watches. At an affordable price point of £239, this Jumping Hour is something not to miss out on!

The First Line of W-01

Released in August 2019, the W-01 introduced the start of Geckota’s Workshop collection. Its vintage style mixed with dashes of modern developments embodies their commitment to combining classic styles with innovative watchmaking techniques.

Powered by the Seagull TY2709 Automatic Jumping Hour movement, the hour window is positioned at 12 for legibility, providing a satisfying click change over every hour. Its silvered stamped multi-layered guilloche dial gives this collection an air of class and quality, complimenting each case finishing respectively.

One of the smaller details which amplify's its vintage look is the heat blued minute hand. This contrasts the silver dial perfectly for ultimate readability. Additionally, this is also complimented by the blue minute markers which surround the edge of the dial, alongside the heat blued hand on the seconds subdial.

Introducing Two New Dials...

The latest releases have been built up from the success of the original W-01 collection. These two new additions are available with either a black or white, and feature a heavily lacquered gloss dial which perfectly reflects vintage timepieces with enamel dials.

The white dial version is complimented by a polished rose gold tone case, and completed with heat blued hands. An additional splash of colour is added on the white dial seen on the hour numerals in red.

Contrasting the white dial, the black version sits in a polished silver tone case and features white markings and hands for ultimate legibility. Both dials feature recessed subdial and hour window.

The same case (made from 316L stainless steel) shape is used for both the W-01 and W-02, with minimal differences which transform the design of each piece. Sitting comfortably at 37mm, with a lug-to-lug size of 47mm, the Workshop collection fits 18mm straps making it a perfect choice for anyone who is looking for a vintage dress watch.

Maintaining the vintage style, the W-01 features a double domed acrylic crystal.
