In January, we eagerly shared news of the limited-edition collaboration between Ace Jewlers and Frederique Constant. Two friends (one, the owner of a stunning boutique jeweler’s in the heart of Amsterdam – the other the CEO of a watch brand with proud Dutch heritage) who had collaborated for the first time in creation of the Highlife Worldtimer Amsterdam. The timepiece itself was not only aesthetically luxurious, high quality and functional, but full of heart, born out of a shared love of the city of Amsterdam. “The realisation of a childhood dream”
For Alon Ben Joseph, CEO of Ace Jewelers this collaboration has been a long time coming, and now the stars have finally aligned.
This time around, Ace Jewelers are collaborating with Christian van der Klaauw and are proud to present the Ariadne Amsterdam Star (or, stAriadne). The Dutch Jeweler have collaborated with the Dutch watch brand to produce another stunning, limited-edition piece with fierce Dutch heritage. Christiaan van der Klaauw’s Ariadne is, of course, the template for the timepiece but a fresh touch has been added.

The Ace x Christian van der Klaauw stAriadne Amsterdam is available to pre-order now, in a one-time limited run of only 50 pieces. In a personalised touch, each watch will be customisable to the taste of the individual client, with a choice between Dutch or English calendar discs and a unique number from 1 to 50, hand-engraved on the movement’s rotor by master-engraver Jochen Benzinger.

In a fitting homage to the astronomical inspirations that define the Christiaan van der Klaauw brand, Team Ace and Alon Ben Joseph were responsible for rejuvenating the iconic Ariadne model with colours inspired by the Amsterdam cityscape and the replacement of the standard Arabic numerals with stars. Taking watch-lovers to the skies, the stAriadne is the first timepiece by the brand to utilise star-shaped hour markers but watch connoisseurs are likely to be familiar with the design phenomenon made popular by Rolex in the 1950s wit their 6062 and 6098 models.

A self-winding wristwatch with chronograph, full calendar displaying the date, day and month, and moon phase indicator, the stAriadne features a sleek fog grey dial with black counter rings and is housed in a stainless-steel case.
