This watch is classed as “Nearly New”, which means that it is either a customer return or a former photo sample. As such it could have very minor signs of wear and may not be supplied with the original box. However, it has still been checked to ensure that it is running perfectly, and it has a 6 month warranty.
The Squalematic sticks to Squale’s core value of offering a well-made dive watch but offers this in a slightly larger 44mm case, whilst still sticking to the brand’s iconic aesthetic.
The Squalematic therefore features all the hallmarks of a great Squale dive watch. The crown is located at 4 o’clock, and slightly recessed to protect it from impacts. The crystal is made from tough scratch-resistant sapphire, and features an anti-reflective coating, whilst the watch has a depth rating of a whopping 600m.
The uni-directional bezel has an enamel inlay that gives the watch something of a retro vibe, whilst still being legible. The dial is equally easy to read, with striking steel batons and a bold orange minute hand. These are all applied with Super-LumiNova so as to provide excellent legibility in low light situations.
The Squalematic is powered by the tried and tested Swiss Sellita SW200 automatic movement and provides reliable and accurate timekeeping under the toughest circumstances.
Overall, the Squalematic embodies all that Squale stand for. On the one hand it’s a rugged and reliable diver’s tool, and on the other it’s an elegant and affordable timepiece.
About The Brand
Squale has been manufacturing professional dive watches since 1959. Back then dive watches were just emerging as a new category of tool watch, and Squale quickly established itself as a quality manufacturer of these crucial pieces of equipment.
As a result, Squale watches were worn by many record-breaking divers. In 1967 Enzo Maiorca achieved an immersion record using a Squale Master. And, in 1970 Jacques Mayol set a historic immersion record in Japan, reaching a depth of 76 meters wearing a Squale watch on his wrist.
Today Squale continues to produce many models of dive watch. All of which are professional tools able to withstand the rigours of life in the ocean.
