This watch is classed as “Nearly New”, which means that it is either a customer return or a former photo sample. As such it could have very minor signs of wear and may not be supplied with the original box. However, it has still been checked to ensure that it is running perfectly, and it has a 6 month warranty.
The Squale 1521 series is the definition of a classic diving watch and a model that has been around for almost 40 years. Regarded as one of the most important diving watches of the 1970's, the design of this watch was made by Charles von Büren (the founder of Squale). The main priority was to create an elegant yet robust watch that could live up to the high expectations of professional divers.
As a result, the Squale 1521 is a perfect example of form following function. Details like the protected recessed crown, exceptionally legible handset, and ergonomic uni-directional bezel combine to produce a true icon amongst dive watches.
Naturally each 1521 is powered by the tried and tested ETA 2824-2 automatic movement, for accuracy and reliability in the harshest conditions. What’s more, all models feature a highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and have an exceptional water-resistance of 500 meters.
The Squale 1521 series is available in three different case finishes: polished, sandblasted, or matte PVD steel. There’s also a broad choice of dial colours and strap options.
This particular 1521 variant features a fully luminous dial with blacked out hands and markers, for exceptional legibility in low light situations.
About The Brand
Squale has been manufacturing professional dive watches since 1959. Back then dive watches were just emerging as a new category of tool watch, and Squale quickly established itself as a quality manufacturer of these crucial pieces of equipment.
As a result, Squale watches were worn by many record-breaking divers. In 1967 Enzo Maiorca achieved an immersion record using a Squale Master. And, in 1970 Jacques Mayol set a historic immersion record in Japan, reaching a depth of 76 meters wearing a Squale watch on his wrist.
Today Squale continues to produce many models of dive watch. All of which are professional tools able to withstand the rigours of life in the ocean.
