Top quality watch for very affordable price. Had difficulties choosing dial type, but went for type b black and couldnt be happier. Service, shipment, products 5/5.
Fast delivery, ordered Friday received following Wednesday in the US. Got the type B blue version and it is simply beautiful with the heat treated hands. I was sold the moment I saw an ETA movement version and this does not disappoint at all.
Very nice watch. Very solid case. When the sun shines through the glass at evening it looks so great and classy!
Vintage Type B is my option. Im very happy to have this watch. Can only recommend.
I will buy if would have a 42mm version.
Which is the design of the case back?
I love the concept but 40mm for a pilot design is too small.
Great watch: Beautiful case-polish, nice movement.
The size is perfect for me. The trend are smaller watches (<42). But every wrist is different, so it's just an individual opinion if the watch is too small/big...
I like it!
First off, it is a bit annoying to see "reviews" with random ratings from people who just want to comment on the watch, often based purely on specs without having seen the item ("too big", "too small"). That makes the review section a bit pointless and completely messes with the overall score.
I had been searching for a Type A Flieger but was worried I might find it a bit boring. Also, choice for slender wrists is not too big to start with. So when I saw the K01 I was interested. Not too big, classic look combined with an interesting twist (colors). Add to that an interesting price with a proven movement, and I was convinced. Yes, a Miyota 9015 would have done just as well and possibly allowed to make the watch even a bit slimmer, but the 2824 is a great movement too.
My main worry was whether the nearly 50mm L2L would not be too much on my wrist.
I received my K01 late last week. This week, I have worn it to work. What a beauty. A clean dial that can look anywhere from black to metallic blue, depending on lighting conditions. A real stunner, without being too flashy. I catch myself staring at it from time to time.
The case is pretty and seems well finished. The crown is a screw-down which for me is a bit of overkill, but some people might appreciate this.
I am not one to measure movement accuracy, but I can say that the watch auto-winds rather well. My desk job is rather sedentary and some watches do not wind enough during a work day to still be running the next morning. The K01 has, so far.
The strap is pretty, but a bit long for me. I am on the first hole and it just about fits (17cm wrist). The strap is also fairly thick, but I think this is normal for this type of watch. It is not stiff, so that is okay.
To my surprise, my watch came in a wooden box which seemed nicer than what I had expected at the price point. WatchGecko also threw in a few goodies, adding to my positive surprise.
All things said, I got a real stunner at a very fair price. I had never had a Geckota watch, only straps from WatchGecko, so I did not really know what to expect.
Well, I am truly impressed.
I received my vintage 'Type A' and it is an excellent watch. The reduction in thickness from the previous pilot is noticeable. I was a bit surprised to see the watches are not batch numbered like the previous models.
Just took delivery of the black dial 'Type B' watch and I am super impressed. I think the size is just right, at least for my wrist. 40mm is large enough for casual and small enough for more dressy and this watch can do both. I got the Zulu strap to go with it for casual and aviation strap for more dressy. The strap it came with is perfect for my Seiko Alpinist, which is currently on a metal oyster bracelet. Though being specifically made for the Alpinist, it fits this watch also. I am spoiled for choice! I was in the market for a Type B Pilot and was going to pay a lot more than this one cost. It is a tremendous bargain, even the hands a thermally blued: unknown at this price point.
I guess some people havent realised that the days of saucer sized watches is over. Good work on this one guys. The only tjing i would like to see is an aged steel version like Zemith and Laco do.
Too small, today's watches are larger. 46-48 mm and you would not be able to fill your orders.
Lovely but too small indeed. Plz also make a 42-44 mm version.
Love the watch and considering preorder. Questions have you decided what the case back design will be? Can you choose on light colored strap vs dark strap? Now just to decide on black or silver dial.
Perfect Sice and very good conditions for a Beobachter A/B . But without PayPall and CCard it is impossible to order one.
Very nice pilot range. Too bad no 42mm, 43mm or 44mm version.
