With a mass of dress watches out there it can be difficult to find the perfect one for you. Here's what we thought about the Rosefield West Village...
Rosefield was founded in 2014 in Holland. They consider themselves a fashion forward brand, creating watches aimed at millennial's where their classic designs have a modern twist. This brand is often compared to Daniel Wellington, as their watches have similar characteristics.
The watch we are looking at today is from 'The West Village' collection, which takes inspiration from Amsterdam City as well as fashion aesthetics from New York. It has a white mother of pearl dial detailed with rose gold plated hands and indexes. The straps on these watches intrigued me the most out of all the elements of this watch. The genuine nubuck leather strap in elephant grey is embellished with three metal rings. This was the first strap I had seen with these plated rings and I thought this added a modern twist making it far a far more interesting piece. I liked the fact one of the rings is silver, allowing you to choose to compliment the watch with either rose gold or silver jewellery.
Similarly to Daniel Wellington the casing is extremely thin being 7mm, which is 1mm thicker than the Daniel Wellington Petite Sterling watch. The advantage of having a watch of this thickness is that it has reduced your awareness of the watch on your wrist really adding to the comfort. Some might actually see this as a disadvantage and would rather be conscious their watch is there, but it’s all down to personal preference! The size of this watch is 33mm, slightly smaller than the Daniel Wellington watch which was 36mm. I would say this watch is a nice size to wear it isn't too small and isn't too big.
The packaging of this watch was very simple in comparison to others, however it suits the aesthetic of the Rosefield very well, having a pale box. There is a little pink ribbon which you can pull up to reveal a sleeve with an instruction booklet inside.
The West Village Elephant Grey in Rose Gold would be a perfect choice for someone who wants to add a stylish timepiece to complete their outfits. The Rosefield collections range from £80 to £140 although this piece in particular is priced at £89. This watch is very affordable considering it clearly takes inspiration from more luxury watches.
